Join Barnes Construction, Nixon Architecture and Munro for a look at Passivhaus.

Is it the future - even though it's 30 years old? How does it work? Does it work?

Speakers Stephen Nixon of Nixon Architecture, Simon Gill of Munro and Mark Bailey of Barnes Construction will present their experience of Passivhaus design & construction projects.

Get an introduction to the concept, history and assessment procedure of a Passivhaus scheme. The team will also take a look at the comparison of passivhaus performance to UK Building Regulations, accompanied by the real life experiences of a contractor working on a project.

Speakers:

Mark Bailey - Divisional Director with Barnes Construction. Mark is responsible for the delivery side of the business. Mark will give a Contractors viewpoint of constructing 28 alms-houses for the Girton Town Charity to Passivhaus certification, including the challenges encountered along the way.

Stephen Nixon - Nixon Architecture: Nixon Architecture are a leading Residential & Passive House Designer. We believe as designers we have a responsibility to build low energy buildings, creating spaces that focus closely on maintaining the occupant’s comfort through minimal means.  Our strategy considers sustainable design from the outset, often with subtle solutions which are integrated into the architecture itself.

Simon Gill, Munro Building Services: Munro Building Services are a leading Building Services Contractor operating throughout East Anglia from their Chelmsford & Cambridge offices. Established in 1953, the Munro team now includes circa 200 directly employed staff with a turnover of approximately £45M. Simon leads Design & Pre-Construction activities at Munro. With over 20 years MEP sector experience, including 12 years within a design consultancy, Simon has a wealth of knowledge in the building services engineering and design sector.
